Actone respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Who We Are

This website is operated by Actone Industries Limited, a company incorporated in Hong Kong, referred to in this policy as "Actone", "we", "us" or "our". For the purposes of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong (the "Ordinance"), we are the data user responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We collect only the personal data that is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. This may include:

  • Information you give us when you complete the enquiry form or contact us directly, such as your name, company, email address, telephone number and the contents of your message.
  • Business information you choose to share about an opportunity, a company or your objectives.
  • Technical information collected automatically when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. This is recorded in standard server logs.

Providing personal data to us is voluntary. If you choose not to provide the information marked as required on the enquiry form, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry.

Please do not send us sensitive personal data (for example, identity card numbers, financial account details or health information) through this website.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:

  • to read, assess and respond to your enquiry, and to communicate with you about it;
  • to evaluate investment, acquisition or partnership opportunities that you introduce to us;
  • to operate, maintain and protect the security of this website, including preventing spam and misuse;
  • to keep proper business records; and
  • to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders and requests from competent authorities.

We will not use your personal data for any other purpose without first obtaining your consent, unless permitted or required by law.

4. Direct Marketing

We do not use your personal data for direct marketing, and we do not sell, rent or provide your personal data to any other person for their direct marketing. If this ever changes, we will first obtain your consent as required by Part 6A of the Ordinance.

5. Disclosure of Personal Data

We keep your personal data confidential. We may disclose it, only to the extent necessary for the purposes above, to:

  • companies within our group, including our affiliated companies in Taiwan, that assist us in assessing or responding to an enquiry;
  • our professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and auditors, who owe us a duty of confidentiality;
  • service providers who support the operation of this website and our communications, such as website hosting and email providers, under obligations of confidentiality and data protection; and
  • regulators, courts, law enforcement agencies or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

6. Transfers Outside Hong Kong

Because we are part of a group based in Taiwan and use third-party service providers, your personal data may be transferred to, stored in or processed in places outside Hong Kong, including Taiwan and the countries where our hosting and email providers operate. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data receives a level of protection comparable to that required under the Ordinance.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When personal data is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it securely.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to stored enquiries and protections against automated abuse of our forms.

No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. Cookies and Third-Party Services

This website uses a single essential session cookie to keep the enquiry form secure and to protect against forged submissions. It does not contain personal data you have entered and expires when you close your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

The website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. Google's handling of this information is governed by its own privacy policy.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but the enquiry form may not work correctly if you do.

10. Your Rights

Under the Ordinance you have the right to:

  • check whether we hold personal data about you and request access to that data;
  • request the correction of any personal data about you that is inaccurate; and
  • ask about our policies and practices in relation to personal data and the kinds of personal data we hold.

To make a request, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time required by the Ordinance. As permitted by the Ordinance, we may charge a reasonable fee for processing a data access request, and we may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Links to Other Websites

This website may contain links to websites operated by others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the website after any change means you accept the updated policy. Please also read our Terms of Use.

13. Language

This policy is available in English and Traditional Chinese. If there is any inconsistency between the two versions, the English version prevails.
